About the Fit4Duty Challenge

What is Fit4Duty?

Fit4Duty is a 8 week gym-based fitness challenge which raises funds for first responder mental health.

When does Fit4Duty Start?

Fit4Duty starts on Monday May 6, and runs until June 30. 

What do I need to do to take part?

Simply hit the register button to sign up and access all training information. This is an 8 week pre-programmed challenge that you can modify to suit your needs and experience. 

Is this challenge for Fortem or Thank a First Responder Day?

Both! Thank a First Responder Day is an initiative that was started by Fortem and is now in its 5th year. Fit4Duty ties into the Thank a First Responder Day campaign, while raising funds for Fortem. 

Participating in the Fit4Duty Challenge

How do I gain access to the program?

Simply register and all information relating to the program will be emailed to you via Trainerize. Note, there may be 3 day delay in gaining this access as we work through the sign ups. 

Is there a registration fee to take part?

No. Simply register to particupate and get ready to start May 6!

What fitness level do I need to participate?

Fit4Duty has been inspired by the FireFit training guidelines. As such, a baseline level of experience in a gym is recommended. However, all workouts can be scaled to your needs. 

How do I log my sessions?

Sessions will be logged via Trainerize. You can log your points and progress each week via your Fit4Duty profile with active hours if you wish. 

What does the program look like?

Each week has 3 main strength days, a cardio day, active recovery and challenge days.

What equipment is required to participate?

Across the 8 weeks you will need

Medicine ball or wall ball

I am injured. Are modifications available?

Unfortunately we are unable to customise the program to suit injury and modification requirements. 

Advice on participation should be sought from a GP, physiotherapist or personal trainer depending on the injury.

Can I access the program after June 30?

You will lose access to Trainerize upon completion of the program. However, you can stil utilise the PDF version emailed to you on sign up.

Fundraising

Can I fundraise before May 6?

Absolutely! As soon as your page is set up you can start fundraising. 

Where does the money raised go?

All money raised goes to Fortem's service delivery, allowing better access for First Responders and their families across Australia.

Are donations tax-deductible?

Yes. Every donation above $2 is tax deductible. Donors will receive a tax receipt via email when they donate. 

How do I change my fundraising goal?

Log in to your Dashboard and click on ‘Edit my page’.
